Red Carpet: The Ladies of Black Panther Continue to Slay

I don’t usually like superhero movies. I just don’t connect with them. But Black Panther looks awesome and Lupita and Danai in particular are doing a spectacular job of promoting it.

The color and necklace are to die for, and as always she bring such a joy and radiance to everything she wears. She looses point for not tracking down the ever elusive Hollywood tailor though.

The construction here is really interesting and Danai is pulling it off well. She’s so gorgeous.

Lupita Nyong’o in Balmain

Ehhh…even Lupita, who normally radiates joy, doesn’t seem convinced about this one. It’s all a bit fussy and overworked. I say re-do the hair and makeup, and remove the cummerbund and we can talk.

This is MAJOR. I am on the record as a fan of large embellished tropical birds on the red carpet. It looks like she’s midway through a cross-species transformation…in a good way!

Lupita Nyong’o in Elie Saab

This fabric is very similar to the Balmain, but the effect is much cuter.

I adore this – so far, Danai is winning this contest for me. This the perfect little party dress.

Lupita Nyong’o in Ralph and Russo

Love this look – the feathers are tremendously fun.
