Time to (belatedly of course…) finish up our coverage of the 2018 Emmys!
Mandy Moore in custom Rodarte
Embed from Getty ImagesUgh, Rodarte. This is so much better than most of what they throw down the runway, but I’m still not on board. I find this ridiculously unflattering around her stomach for something that was custom.
Heidi Klum in Zac Posen
Embed from Getty ImagesSo boring. But SO much better than past years.
Madeline Brewer in Brock Collection
Embed from Getty ImagesI really want to like Brock Collection – they’re stuff is very romantic and proper, but I find it also comes off incredibly stuffy. This black gown in particular is aging her back to the Victorian Era.
Penelope Cruz in Chanel
Embed from Getty ImagesI have Cruz-Chanel Fatigue. Or maybe I just have Chanel Fatigue…
Scarlett Johansson in Balmain
Embed from Getty ImagesHard pass on this Kardashian Kleenex Koncoction.
Natalia Dyer in Ralph Lauren
Embed from Getty ImagesClassically lovely.
Taraji P. Henson in Giambattista Valli and Samantha Bee in Ronald Van Der Kemp
Embed from Getty ImagesI couldn’t find a picture of Taraji from the red carpet, so Samantha Bee is tagging along here as well. Katers gonna hate (and a lot of folks did) but I love Taraji’s Giambattista Valli! It has two of my all-time favorite elements: florals and capes. Sadly, next to her, Samantha looks like the snazziest lady day trader straight out of 1983.
Alison Brie in Miu Miu
Embed from Getty ImagesI could definitely see this as a nod to the 1980’s leotards on “Glow”, but I could also be giving it too much credit. The only thing it definitely is, is ugly.
Samira Wiley in Jenny Packham
Embed from Getty ImagesThis is spectacular and was my pick for Allison Janney at the Oscars earlier this year!
Judith Light in Christian Siriano
Embed from Getty ImagesSassy AF. Also, #NeverForget.
Kirsten Dunst in Schiaparelli
Embed from Getty ImagesGorgeous.
Holly Taylor in Georges Chakra
Embed from Getty ImagesOur little Paige is all grown up! I love the color and fabric, but wish the neckline had one less element to it. When i put my finger over her left arm and imagine it as a simple long-sleeved v-neck I like it 100% more.
Gwendoline Christie in Giles Deacon
Embed from Getty ImagesGreat color, but boy did that fabric suffer from the car ride over.
Connie Britton in Sachin and Babi
Embed from Getty ImagesFabulous, like her hair.
Gina Rodriguez in Zuhair Murad
Embed from Getty ImagesThis dress came down the runway with a cape. It is heresy to me that anyone would remove it.
Sophie Hunter in Emilia Wickstead
Embed from Getty ImagesSeems like yellow was the color of the night, which I am all for. I think I like Sophie’s the best – the emerald earrings really clinch it for me.
