The TV ladies were a bit of a mixed bag…
Jessica Biel in Oscar de la Renta
Embed from Getty ImagesI wish it were lined, but I’m actually way more into this than I thought I would be if you described it to me. But seriously – the collage-like elements are the most interesting thing here, and they would be much better highlighted if it were just lined in black. Historically, I haven’t been a fan of Biel’s taste, but the last few events she’s worn some interesting things.
Chrissy Metz in custom Eloquii
Embed from Getty ImagesPhenomenal. I absolutely love this on her. The next time someone says curvy women should stick to black, show them this.
Emilia Clarke in Dolce and Gabbana
Embed from Getty ImagesToo old for her. Helen Mirren is a big D&G fan, and this seems much more up her alley.
Rachel Brosnahan in Zuhair Murad
Embed from Getty ImagesNot crazy about the dusty rose color, but the beading is gorgeous. I also wish it would pick a length instead of hovering awkwardly.
Reese Witherspoon in Prada
Embed from Getty ImagesEh, this is fine and a totally safe pick for her.
Mary Elizabeth Winstead in Delpozo
Embed from Getty ImagesThis is from the same line as the outfit Kiernan Shipka wore the same night, and feels very similar. It’s a lot of look, and a lot of tulle, but I think I like it? Not on board with the messy gym hair though. More importantly, can you believe the drama with her and Ewan McGregor?! Juicy stuff.
Nicole Kidman in Valentino
Embed from Getty ImagesTalk about A LOT of look. I love when Nicole goes big, and I love Valentino, but this is too pink, and too twee, and too much for her.
Elisabeth Moss in Erdem
Embed from Getty ImagesBlerghhhh I hate this. Of all the glorious, glamorous Erdem’s out there, how in the world do you pick this drab nightie?
Laura Dern in Balmain
Embed from Getty ImagesThe top fits perfect, the bottom fits like MC Hammer. Hard pass.
Carrie Coon in Reem Acra
Embed from Getty ImagesI love Carrie Coon. Criminally, she was not nominated for ANY awards for her work closing out “The Leftovers”, the best show of 2017. She is crazy, stupid talented. All that is to say, I am rooting for her. But wow, this look is a real bummer. She looks like a weird, New Age cult leader.
Alison Brie in Roberto Cavalli
Embed from Getty ImagesI don’t like anything here. She looks like she woke up from a very long nap, realized she was supposed to be at the Critic’s Choice Awards, and wrapped herself in her own bed linens.
