A handful of musicians (or general music-film multihyphenates) attended the Vanity Fair and Elton John after parties.
Janelle Monáe in Christian Siriano

An excellent collaboration with flawless execution. And if you haven’t checked out the two new songs she dropped a few weeks ago, please check them out. They’re virtually impossible not to dance to.
Miley Cyrus in Moschino
Embed from Getty ImagesI picked a variation on this “kaboom” dress for our reigning Wonder Woman, Gal Gadot. I love it on Miley – it’s a great match of wearer and dress. As you’ll see later, she changed for the Vanity Fair party, but this is her best look of the night in my opinion.
Ellie Goulding in Jenny Packham
Embed from Getty ImagesEasily the best she’s ever looked. I adore Ellie – I’ve seen her live multiple times and highly recommend it, but she’s usually pretty sartorially challenged. She looks fantastic in this Jenny Packham. That collection in general is just super wearable.
Rita Ora in Zuhair Murad
Embed from Getty ImagesAnother potential career high – Rita’s style can be a bit…schizophrenic. She veers from sheer nonsense to reasonably good at least once a week. But this is genuinely good and walks the line between her more eccentric impulses and stuff that normal humans would wear.
Miley Cyrus in Prabal Gurung
Embed from Getty ImagesThis black and white cookie of a dress is such a letdown after the exuberance of her Moschino. I never thought I would be let down by a black and white cookie…
Serayah in Hilfiger Collection
Embed from Getty ImagesThere is exactly half of a great dress here. I just wish Tommy had taken the time to finish it before she had to hit the red carpet.
Ciara in Alexandre Vauthier
Embed from Getty ImagesWhereas Alexandre could have done with some editing. This is…a lot. I actually don’t hate it – much like Zendaya, Ciara has a way of pulling off things that mere mortals would be completely overwhelmed by. Bella Hadid wore this to close out the runway show, and I knew it would show up on someone. Ciara is a good fit and one of a very small list of people who could come close to pulling it off.
Hailee Steinfeld in Giambattista Valli

Blah. This looks bedraggled and half finished at best.
