Things have been a little bit slow since we wrapped up awards season, so instead of a bunch of smaller posts, I decided to do a Best/Worst of the week round up. Here are my favorite looks from the past seven days – and check back tomorrow to see the best of the worst!
Lupita Nyong’o in Prada

Lupita was unsurprisingly well attired for her stylist, Micaela Erlanger’s, book release. That disco ball purse is to die for! Micaela’s book is called “How to Accessorize”, so the pressure was on to kill it with the accessories. Micaela and Lupita’s partnership has produced some truly stupendous red carpet moments, they clearly work well together. However, I wish I liked Micaela and Diane’s looks as much as I like Lupita’s…
Naomie Harris in Miu Miu
Naomie was a sparkly delight at the “Rampage” premiere in Los Angeles this week. I mean, was I ever not going to love this look? The emerald earrings are also absolutely perfect with it.
Leslie Mann in Zac Posen
Leslie has been out and about promoting “Blockers”, which is getting surprisingly decent reviews. She’s one of my red carpet favorites – her tastes, like mine, run towards the ultra-feminine, floral, and colorful. This Zac Posen is a a breath of Spring air.
Emily Blunt in Elie Saab and Oscar de la Renta
Emily Blunt had such a good fashion week it was hard to pick just two looks. She’s been making the rounds promoting “A Quiet Place” which looks…terrifying. Hard pass. It’s funny – for a scary movie, she’s chosen some incredibly whimsical and bright outfits. This first look is Elie Saab. I love the red and green floral accents and I am thrilled that she wore green shoes – a lot of people would have opted for a neutral.
And this Oscar de la Renta is utterly charming. She looks like a couture ballerina and the oxblood velvet accents keep it from feeling too twee.
Mindy Kaling in Tory Burch

Mindy was out supporting her friend Tory Burch as she launched her latest fragrance. I would wear this dress in a heartbeat. The pixelated floral pattern is such a fun twist on your typical summer dress.
And finally, this weeks most improved award goes to….
Kim Kardashian West in Versace
I’m not sure I’ve ever given Ms. Kardashian West a sartorial thumbs up? But honestly, this is good. It’s neither sheer, nor does it involve a long black blazer – two of her usual stylistic crutches. Would I kill to see her in a color? Sure. But given her track record, I’m on board with this.
